The Process
Start Imagining…
It all starts with you! Sure, you love your house but maybe you have been dreaming of a remodeled kitchen because the layout is just not right or maybe you could use more space by finishing your basement. It can be done! Start pulling together ideas for what you would like to do and how you would like it to look. We always suggest going to Houz, Pinterest or Instagram to get started. Share your ideas and vision with us at your initial consultation.
Schedule a Consultation…
During a consultation, we will walk through your space with you and go over the scope of work. We will also want to see your ideas, so this is a great time to share all your thoughts and inspirations with us. Expect photos and measurements to be taken during this initital walk through and from there we will be able to provide you with an estimate. Once you receive your estimate you will be able to decide if you would like to move forward or not. To move forward with a project, we will need a copy of the signed estimate returned to us as well as a 10% non-refundable deposit, the deposit will secure your spot on the DPR schedule.
Project Phases
Once your project gets scheduled you will go through several phases from start until completion, DPR’s phases are as follows:
Design and approval phase: During this initial phase we will be meeting to approve layout designs and pick design materials and features such as cabinetry, paint colors, lighting, tile, flooring, finishes, etc. It is our policy to have all these items picked, purchased and delivered before the start of a project because in our experience it makes a project run that much smoother.
Project Start phase: It’s Demo Day! At the start of the project usually it entails demolition or just readying a space to be worked on, also known as the project rough-in phase.
Interior work phase: The bulk of a project is set in this phase and a lot of the messy work is getting done here: plumbing, electrical, drywall, flooring, etc.
Finish work phase: This is the fun part – this is where the project starts to take shape and transform into all that you had imagined. All the finish work will happen during this phase including painting, lighting, hardware, and all the finishes you selected in the design process will be put into place.
Project completion: We will do a final walk-thru with you at this phase and anything you see that you think needs touched up we will note and take care of right away.
